    Default "Humpy" Flies

Hey Everyone- I want to target a new salmon here in WA. And the Pink Salmon, or Humpies, are running this year. Does anyone have any suggestions on what flies to use or what depth? Boat or shore? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

In this neck of the woods (southcentral AK) they don't seem to be very particular. Any baitfish pattern with plenty of flash usually draws their attention. A simple tie that is very popular up here is a downsized Karluk Flash Fly. I like luminescent lime green and blue versions of the standard dressing for the salt(http://www.akflyfishers.com/flashfly.html).

    Good luck,
    tt
