    Yesterday's participants...Freshwater Drum:Common Carp:New Personal Best Shortnose Gar... 29":Caught 7 Bowfin...missed quite a few more. Starting to spawn!

    I'd never caught one until I caught a baby one while on a trip to Arkansas on June 4, 2022. Then I FINALLY found some locally and really started catching them from August 28 thru Oct 15, 2022. They are definitely my latest obsession. My goal is to get to at least a lifetime number of 100 Bowfin on fly. Last year I caught 46. So far this year, I'm at 17. So, 63 down, 37 to go! I should be able to reach my 100 goal this year. I'm learning about them along the way. Really fascinating fish!
