    Default Drop Shot Rigging

I'm a drop shot fan of nymphing and I recently read about a fisherman who ties a 6-8" length of 6X/7X material onto the split shot end as a means to lessen re-rigging an entire section of leader when snagged. On my last outing, I tied a #16 swivel connecting my 6" split shot end to a 4x tippet. The dropper was tied to the eye of the swivel. The few times I snagged I ended up losing the spit shot only while the swivel and dropper remained intact. If using a two fly system, the upper fly is attached as usual. This method probably is not new...............tight lines

That sounds like a great idea. Would you diagram that idea?

If you would go to Google and type in Drop Shot Rigging you will find there are a number of YouTube videos on the various methods to tie these.
