Higer"s SOS is a great little nymph. These are my attempts to tie a bunch of 18's. He used black chrystal flash for legs and I used red. why? Didn't have any black. Try it to drag behind a dry or by it self. Easy tie. You'll like it.

Only fish fries and soft hackles. But, if I did go under, those would work well
