    Small bass?? How DARE you! I'm just messing around. Probably ate too much sugar or something...
    The first picture is just a rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). Born in a spring-fed creek in central Missouri. Kinda pretty, right?

    DEFINITELY got a grin from here Dave!!!
    Those are the size of the troutoids we pestered last w/e on the Russian while running the dog. The troutiods were surprising enough, but the total lack of squawfish and other "off" species definitely added to the "mystery".

    I haven't been able to confirm this...but I know this stream hasn't been stocked in many many years. And other such streams in MO were stocked with McCloud strain Rainbow Trout way back then. So, its possible that is what this is. I've seen pictures of McCloud strain Rainbows, and they look like these to me....but I don't know if there is a way to tell them apart just by looking at them. Anybody else know?
