More cool stuff from Mr. Denson. The body hackle's a bit too webby on this one; back to the dye bath (1 pack Koolaid Ice Blue Raspberry, 1 pack Cherry) with some saddle feathers.


hook - Dai Riki 075 #10
thread - Danville 6/0 wine
tail - hackle fibers claret
rib - small wire gold
body - medium tinsel opal
body hackle - grizzly hen dyed claret
cloak - bronze mallard


Part 1

mash barb start thread; tie in rib, wrap to bend




measure (shank length) some hackle fibers; tie in/trim, finish 1 eye width back from eye






tie in tinsel, wrap to tail and back; tie off/trim






tie in hackle, wrap to bend






capture tip of hackle with rib, continue to front, helicopter end, cover with thread, trim hackle tip

measure (tips to bend) a section of bronze mallard; tie in with a soft loop, gradually applying tension, allowing fibers to encircle the hook






trim butts, whip finish, SHHAN

Nice looking pattern. I think Denny would probably add a split jungle cock eye. I would not myself as i don't have any jungle cock.
