And I FINALLY managed to get the lip off the desktop so my clamp-on vise can hook up.
I'm off work this month. I'm switching "Production Mode" to "ON".

Nice! Decent looking and totally functional.
It's great to have a dedicated tying desk. That one should work out well for you. Congratulations!

Going to be a lot better than using the kitchen table all the time!
Now, if we could just get some place that had a basement, and I could keep the frigging cats away from my desk.....
Great lighting setup, too.
Looks great.. reminds me i need better lighting or new eyes
I tied up 11 Heterogenius Nymphs today (Thanks ScottP !). I ended up having to move those lamps around just a bit. I'm still not totally happy with the lighting situation. I've realized that the lamps to the side are nice, but they are "in front" of the vise, leaving the part of the fly I can see to be slightly shaded. I would really need some light sources above and behind me. I do have one source that does that, above and behind, to my left. But, it's a little further away than I would like. We just got a new floor lamp. I may try to use that but, it would end up being out in the middle of the living room floor, and the cats and dogs would probably end up knocking it over when they start feeling frisky and start playing/running.
That aside, yes, I can use the setup as is. I'll keep up with it.
I'm sure your wife likes the idea of you having your own tying desk rather than the kitchen table. Just be careful not to ask to have dinner served to you while you are in the middle of a tying project or you may end up moving that table to the outdoors w/o really wanting too.........ha!
Just kidding!
It really is great to have your own bench and not have to always clean up and put things away to make room for something else.
