Where in CT? shouldn't have to travel too far. What is the target species? I haven't lived there since 1985 but most of my fishing was on smaller impoundments (creek fed ponds) and small natural lakes. I could suggest a few but have been out of the loop for a long time. When I was a kid, you couldn't catch a fish in the Connecticut river but now I hear it is a world class smallmouth fishery.

Get on the Ct. DEP Web site, quite a few lakes should be listed. Candlewood in Danbury, Mashapaug in Union, Long Hill in Winsted. Far too many to list here. There is really a lot of good fishing in this state. A little research will on there Web site will serve you well.

I live in eastern CT and there's 22 fishable lakes, ponds and impoundments just in my town alone.
