Has anyone had an oppertunity to use an Atlas vise by Wolff Indiana and if so, what did you think of it?

Thanks Curtis. This comes at just the right time as I found a retailer relatively close that carries Wolff. I am goilng to see if they will let me demo it there (Feild & Stream) to see if I like it. Luke.

As I remember it, the Apex had jaw issues when first introduced but have not seen anyone complain about them lately. Tied on an Apex (non-true rotary version of Atlas) and did not like it at all, and fishfood.com's review pretty much syncs with my own experiences. In that price range, I'd look at the Peak as an alternative.
I'd get the Apex before the Atlas. You will have a hard time seating large hooks properly in the Atlas.
I've tied on it. Liked it a lot. Not a whole bunch of difference between the Atlas and a number of much more expensive vise's out there. Lacks a little in finish, but functionality seemed very nice.
Have one for 3 years now, love it. no problems with holding hooks up to 8/0
