Sure does look like Ug, one of the Ly sisters (Home being the other). How's the shad run going?

What in Hell is it??????
Gerri, I think it is a sea lamprey.
Scott, I went last Wednesday, the first time I ever fished the shad run, the river was loaded with fish. Using a 6wt with a sink tip line and a fly a kind fellow gave me, caught lots of shad, as many foul hooked as not. It was a lot of fun.

That is SO COOL!!!
Glad you got some fish; shad are a blast on a flyrod. I'm bummed that I'll miss the run this year, although I'll get to fish some tailwaters here in MT once I'm done with the sage grouse count (maybe try to hunt down some skwalas on a river not named the Bitterroot, too). Hope that's the last lamprey you get.
Regards,
Scott
