Pheasant Tails take a bit of practice, but once you figure out the proportions and sequence, they get a lot easier. Check out Charlie Craven's version; no one ties it better

He does cheat on his legs, trimming them to length, but the fish don't seem to care. I cheat in my own way - tie them to length at the eye facing out over the hook, wrap the butts back to the abdomen, wrap the thorax, pull the wingcase over the top, fold back the legs on either side, tie off/trim; legs always come out the proper length.
