Dan Delkta morphs an Iris/Neversink Caddis; similar to the Teaser (back end's the same), but different enough for it's own thread. Gave this one the Royal treatment; change colors to suit your needs.


hook - Dai Riki 280 #14
abdomen - Uni-stretch chinese red
shuck - Congo Hair brown
rib - gold wire x-small
thread - MFC 8/0 brown
thorax - peacock herl/Ice Dub peacock black
underwing - bleached elk
overwing - Congo Hair white (looped)
legs - Sili-legs brown
hackle - Coachman brown
indicator - 1mm foam white


Part 1

Mash down barb, start Uni-stretch (used as the tying thread to start things off - saves time)




tie in shuck; fold back, tie in rib, wrap back to point above barb, then finish body at 60% mark








rib body, tie off/helicopter end; start 8/0 thread, tie off/trim Uni-stretch, trim shuck to length (gap width past bend)

Part 2


tie in some peacock, twist around thread and wrap forward








tie in foam strip (1/2 gap width), extend over eye




clean, stack a clump of elk, trim tips, tie in; trim butts






loop a hank of CH; tie in (extend back to point above barb)

Part 3

tie in hackle; wrap from eye back to 75% mark, tie off, trim






trim out hackle on top, pull foam back and tie down






tie in legs




dub over leg tie-in; whip, SHHAN




trim indicator/legs

They are interesting patterns. I see them bring cutts up on mountain streams with gusto.
