I also will be coming in to a bunch of Canadian Goose feathers beginning on September 1. I know natural grey are used for wet fly wings, but are they of any other value?

Just wondering out loud: Can the fuzz at base of smaller feathers be used for dubbing? How about wrapping the fibers from the longer fibered feathers as you would a pheasant tail? Hackle for Tube or Spey flies? Rolled, down wings on caddis type or stone flies? Biots off of the leading edge of primary wing feathers?
That's all I got right now.
Bruce,
I use biots from the leading edge of primary wing feathers for Biot Adams parachutes; they're also great for the wing stubs on North Fork Special nymphs. Tons of other applications for the feathers.
Regards,
Scott

I also use the biots from the leading edge of natural goose feathers. They make excellent bodies, especially on the "mosquito" (if you do in right, a natural 'zebra' stripe shows well).
Work is something for people that don't fish.
I have used goose quill from the trailing edge (long wide side) for wing cases. I use it on hares ears and Iso nymphs, or anyplace you might use duck or turkey.
Geese also have quite a few CDC feathers from the around the preen oil gland at the tail, if you can get those, too.
