What was the dubbing that you used? Did I miss the description? It could double as a crane fly larva, too, couldn't it?
Well done, TBird!

Joe,
Thanks for asking.
Yeah they didn't show the Dubbing: SLF Whitlock Blend Sowbug Gray- which Davy created for Dave. Same for tan, it is a Whitlock Sowbug Tan also. WAPSI FLY Company produces it.
Also they did not include that the lead is .20
Any thing else let me know.

Well done video.
Not exactly sure why this would theoretically be any more successful than numerous other ties...the dubbing?
I did like the idea of winding the thread back and tying off at the bend though. I'm going to remember that.
I have a question...............are ridiculously long nails necessary in tying this simple fly?
The talent here is tying with those nails....don't know how she does it.
Very simple pattern. Agreed, looks close to a Cranefly larva.
As a matter of interest to you guys, l developed and manufactured the SLF dubbing ranges from the 80s, with some 340 different dubbing blends which also included many signature series.
I sold the business to Wapsi 10 years ago who now continue to produce the product here in Mountain Home AR.
