Why not do both. Have the video and a downloadable MSWord or pdf file with photos?

I agree with Uncle Jesse, do both. The s-b-s will show better the placement and location of the item (fur, feather, dubbing, thread etc...) while the video (not a video of stills) will show how to do the step. I find being shown, then doing, a better way of learning some of the more difficult techniques.

Thanks all! I'll have to think this over I guess. The idea of doing a video made of stills came to me because I do tying demos at clubs and in shops. It's sometimes hard to cater to the needs of more than 8 tiers with different skills, so I tie the pattern step-by-step with explanation and then show the video, pausing for some additional explanation. Then I go around and look at each tier at work. While I'm doing that the tiers can follow the video and if they miss a step they only have to wait a minute and a half before that step is repeated in the video. Plus a video is easy, fast and very visual on a website. On the other hand text and photos have a lot more room to explain hows and whys than a video.
So - still confused but at a higher level I guess
    Thanks!

Your video will be a great aid to any Fly tier who is dipping his or her toe into the water for the first time. Great Tool!

I prefer step by step. I can print it out and take it to my vise which is in the basement. I REALLY SEE NO ATVANTAGE TO THE MOVIE BUT OTHERS LIKE IT.Whatever you decide, thanks for sharing.

I'm a little late to this, I was traveling overseas.
First, I want to say that this was beautifully done.

However, I prefer full streaming movies. SBS's are great, but I'm more interested in how the tier does something. Did you tie in the peccary in some particular way or do something idiosyncratic in wrapping the body? How about tying in the hackle?

All those potential tips about how to do something better or faster can get lost in an SBS.

Thanks, Steven. You mention something that I hadn't considered! There are indeed things I tell or show when I tie demos that are not included in this sequence. Appreciate you mentioning this!

I like the pattern and the still shot version.
