    Default learning new flies

A friend of mine at work brings me the weekly outdoor section of the newspaper. There is a fly patern in almost everyone and he says "do you tie that?" I always say "yea". That was one of the things that got me practicing tieing was to look in the outdoor section at the pattern and then try to tie it till I got it right. Lately they have had some new ones so it has become a game with us to tie this new flie in how many tries till it is right.

If you are new to tieing and have this option in your local paper try it. Tie the flie of the week every week until you tie them all.

New CD with all the FOTW and Just Old Flies (updated with Volume 9 Sept 05 - Aug 06) will be available in September. I have 140 some members who will receive the CD that has all 9 Volumes being mailed out first (automatic mailing). New to the CD this year is the Ronn Lucas, Sr. and Friends "How to Tie Salmon Flies" series.

The CD also includes the fly tying terms, as well as the hackle gauge printout (Du Bois and Walt Dette).

I included the Abobe Reader 6.0 download required to veiw the CD.

I will post when the CD is ready for anyone not on the automatic mailing, and will post of the names of those who I have mailed out to. Please not request until I post that I am ready to handle any new request. You will be added to the Volume 10 automatic mailing list.~Parnelli

    harleybob,

I am jealous that you have something like that in your local newspaper. The outdoors column in our paper is written by someone who many doubt ever went fishing in his life.

Harley Bob: Some newspapers have a web site where you can read the paper on the computer.

Is there any chance that your local paper has one? And if so, the name of the paper and the day of the week the articles are published.

    Thanks. Tim Anderosn
