    Well checked the e-mail and low and behold I did not get a notification of winning that nice bamboo rod. Oh well I will keep trying, sure wanted that rod LOL

    CONGRATS Andy---you got a nice rod there. I guess I am happy I didn't win cause I would have had to go out and buy a new reel for it and some line and then wifey would have been really angry and if moma ain't happy LOL. I think it is great that you stated several times you were going to win and you did

    Congratulations Andy. I didn't want the stupid thing anyway, I couldn't afford to buy more line for the dumb thing either.

    For all those that are (like me) crying at our loss. Elkhorn sells the rod blanks for $250. Add another $75 ~ $100 for the hardware and you can wind up with a nice bamboo rod for under $350. It is what I did. Mine is not as pretty as the Eklhorn built rod but it is just as servicable.

    Jed, it would surprise me if you put one of those Okuma's on your rod; I think he will invest in a higher quality one too, and will load it with a Cortland SYLK or an SA 'Trout'.
