    Default Pocket Fly Rod

Is there anyone out there who would buy a pocket fly rod, if one were made, other than Ohiotuber? Imagine; a 8" handy rod with built-in plastic reel that catapults out 13 sections of rod with the push of a button. The handy plastic reel can double as a fly box too...you could keep it strung up with line, leader and even a fly on the end...step up to stream side, push the button and whamo your fishi'n. If there is a market, we will get our first proto-type out soon. The FAOLfly'o'matic. Anyone game?

I will bring my own to the FI. It breaks down to 6 inch sections; fits inside suit coat pocket.

Sounds like the old collapsable steel rods such as those made by the Bristol Rod Co.
These were also know as Sunday rods because you could hide one under your coat and go fishing on Sundays, with no one being the wiser
The simpler the outfit, the more skill it takes to manage it, and the more pleasure one gets in his achievements.

Ah yes, the Ronco FAOL fly'o'matic. And it really, really works! Why didn't I think of that? And it comes in the latest colors...avacodo is big this year. I can't wait to see J.C.'s pocket rod. What kindof reel goes on the pocket rod? I think the built in will be the answer.

We do have an old fiberglass "extendo" flyrod that we keep in the "pete". It is about 12"-14" collapsed and is 8' when extended. It is super S-L-O-W but stashes easily. We often have to "modify" it with improvements but it has and will serve us well.
