Steve, Congrats!! I too was a smoker and decided almost three years ago to quit, food tastes better things smell better and life is great. I'm also a type 2 diabetic and working on my weight. I don't have as much to work on as you did but man be proud of yourself, you have done great. Y'all take care and keep us posted on the results, John.

Had to post this. After 12+ years of not being able to wear jeans because I was a FattyMcbutterpants lol... (last waist size jeans I wore was a 48") I bought some jeans last week.....size 39" waist, and they are actually a bit big lol...I could do with a 36" waist I think. . I feel so much better these days it's not even funny.

Now down 136lbs and 12" off my waist.

Have now lost 138lbs. I'm in the "250's" for the first time in over 20 yrs! (6'6" 259.5lbs) that's from 397.5lbs in Feb.

Plus....I actually jogged/ran 1 mile today rather than walk a few miles....Never could have done that as a 397lbs cigarette smoker I use to be.

That is a heck of a milestone!

You are looking good man. You have this thing whipped.

At the beginning of the year I became ill and and was hospitalized. I had a cold that got worse and worse.
In the hospital, I was diagnosed with septic pneumonia and diabetes. The diabetes lowered my immune system and my body couldn't fight the infection, even with the antibiotics I was taking. It was a very rough time for me.

Well, they got me fixed up and put me on a diet for my diabetes. I weighed a little over 200 lbs before and now I am at a pretty steady 170 lbs. I eat better and feel better. I do miss some of the foods I used to eat. But now everything is in moderation.

Dropping the kind of weight that you have plus kicking the smoking habit is quite an accomplishment. Now that's some willpower! Well done Steve.

I've gained 40 lbs since I quit smoking, so to be able to quit and lose weight is amazing! Congratulations.
