Buddy I have fished it more times than I can remember. Also about every other creek, and beaver pond that has fish in Montezuma, and Dolores counties.

What's the "supposed" progression of the flyfisherman?

    Desires to catch a fish
    Desires to catch many fish
Desires to catch a few large fish
Desires to catch a few large, difficult fish

I've never gotten past the second phase.

Their joke falls apart when you consider that Sage does market a 0, 00, and 000 weight rod as well as a rod called the "Bluegill." So, essentially, as has already been pointed out, there is a market for the 'mini' rod that the author jokes about, and that market is being served, especially by the company that is referenced in the article. Maybe he hasn't looked at Sage's lineup lately?

    I'm with Steven.
I have to wonder about the Gourmet who has "advanced" to the point that not only does he not enjoy wholsome, daily fare, he is actually offended by it.
What is the point of training one's palate to the point of being a drawback? For those who have highly refined palates and are not offended by more modest meals, this is in no way intended for you. Good for you. Most of us prefer the scenery of trout streams to traffic jams. But most of us need to be able to deal with the latter without having an emotional incident.
