Anyone have any comparisons or opinion on these three UV curing resins?

I've been using UV resin for about 6 months now. The first one I had always remained slightly tacky. Not soft at all, in fact it is the hardest resin I have ever found. It was just that the head would easily loose its sheen. Recently I bought some Diamond Hard UV Resin. This is cured with a laser. It dries hard and clear in 1 to 2 seconds. There is no tackiness at all and it has a high sheen. For me the biggest advantage is not having to leave flies to dry and then re coat them. A rack of drying flies seems to attract any loose fluff floating around. This kit came from Deer Creek here in the UK, I don't know of a US supplier.

Here's a Willie Gunn tube fly that shows the UV resin on the head. One coat. It is the old resin so has lost a little of its sheen. I need to tie some Copper Johns. I'll post a photo showing the Diamond Hard when I have done them.

I find it excellent, saves me time and messing. Make sure you clear the eye before zapping it - you will not get the eye clear once it is set!
    Cheers,
    A.

I have had some nice results using "Loon UV Knot Sense" for tying my copper john's.

As promised a Copper John (varient) tied with Diamond Hard UV resin.

The biggest advantage here is stopping the resin running into the peacock.

I use UV nail gel, very cheap and doesn't dry sticky. Doesn't yellow or crack either, women have been using this for a while.

9-6-11 003.jpgI just use frabric paint in pearl or gelles frabric in clear, don't mind the wait. gelles is nice for soft flies (its chewy) tulip is good for hard heads in pearl. I think tulip makes a hard finish in clear too. $1.89 bottle last for a lot of flies..
