"The Sage RPL is the model that got many anglers thinking and feeling beyond anything Orvis had to offer."

I would suggest this statement combined with the fact that Orvis rods were kept completely off the list, speaks volumes. Mainly, the fact that he completely ignored the fact that all of those Orvis unsanded Superfines are still out there being fished. Which says that there was really no need to "See beyond" them in the first place.

I'm surprised the Orivis Far & Fine is not on the list as well as the Fenwick HMG. We're talking about changing the world here. The HMG did that more so than any other rod.
I've never read an opinion article such as this that was not strictly that.... opinion or at least leaning toward a favorite sponsor.

The RPL is the one that did it for me. I still have my 390, 590, 690 and 7100 and use them all the time. My bank account has never been the same! lol.

The Far and Fine is a marvelous fishing tool and it should be on the list. I guess Orvis didn't pay enough money to get mentioned
