    Those are good sketches, I saved copies to my Fly Pattern files for future reference.

    I grew up in Mississippi, there may be woodcocks there, I never heard anyone speak of them. We did have Snipes although not many people hunted them but some would take a shot if while quail (Bobwhite) you happen upon the snipes.

    Looks like the wood cock we have here in Vermont, and tough as heck to hit LOL. I thought Ruff's took off quick but those wc's are faster. Only ever hit one and it was luck and way closer than I thought it was, nothing left even with a 16 gauge.

    My son put two more snipe skins in the freezer for me to take care of... I have been in Kodiak fishing for the past two weeks... Both of the new skins are spoken for, but the season is far from over and I may have some to share later. They make very nice little flies with lots of tradition and understated elegance.
