Thread: Owyhee River

    Question Owyhee River

Anyone know how the Owyhee has been lately? A buddy and I are really considering the 5.5 hour drive this coming weekend. Just to get our hands on some big browns. Not sure if the Skwala hatch is on yet but would love to hit that. Kind of a dream I've had.

Sorry, haven't heard anything. Was thinking the same thing. Looking forward to what people tell you.

I'd check the Idaho & Oregon forums over on Westfly, too; there's usually some good info over there. Save me some skwalas, please, I'm going to be in MT in 3 weeks.

    Scott

Thanks, Ya'll, called the Trout Lie yesterday and Greg got back to me today while I was working. Answered all my questions from my message, nice guy! Nice vid too, Lo-T (your new gangsta name). Got a lot of good info from the web and ya'll, through PM's too, keep it coming

Here's a good one I found during my searches from NOAA, pretty cool: http://www.nwrfc.noaa.gov/river/stat...plot.cgi?OWYO3
(It even has the freakin weather on it)

I've cruzed the net for some bug patterns and tied various patterns for the Little Skwalas both with Foam and Hair and combo. I posted something in the tying board a few months ago in anticipation, but finally things are starting to materialize. We spent a few days over there a year or so back but it was in summer and I kinda just wanted to fish this particular hatch. I know, I know, I'm gettin bad just chasing hatches around the NW and the Steelhead when I can. Silly Me?

Lookin for some new stuff (patterns) and from what I hear as well some interesting Midge patterns to be had too??

If you ever get the opportunity to get there, well, you'll see!
