Thread: About Us --> Profession past present and other nosy stuff

    Age: 66
    Trades: retired...millwright for 22 years at the same place.
    Hobbies - fly tying, flyfishing. computers, built my own since 1995.
    Gripes: why gripe? it's a waste of time. rather than gripe do something about it.
    Homestead: wife and 3 grown children
    Hair color: blondish, with much white, full head of hair

    I can't say about fly fishing but there's a lot of feed lots in Kansas.

    Age: 60

    Trades: Right now a Greenskeeper (glorified grass cutter) on a county golf course (right close to retirement). Before that a NC homesteader raising Boer meat goats and Welsh springer spaniels. At same time every Summer for 13 years I was the Shooting Sports Directer on a local BSA Camp. Before that 20 Years USMC retired MSgt 1992. Before that Tool and Die Maker and before that a Forklift operater....

    Hobbies: All fishing, new to fly fishing and tying and loving it, gardening, outdoor cooking, Bible study and I enjoy birdwatching

    Gripes: Lot more to do and running out of time...

    Homestead: Alone now.. A wonderful daughter, son in law and two great grand youngins out in my future home state of Montana..
    Never been lost. Might confused for a month or so but never lost.

    Age: 58
    Trades: Rod Builder, RF Engineer, Network Administrator, 2-way radio Technician, technical writer, author for magazines, car salesman, Saddlemaker, horse trainer, truck driver, Retail sales, oil field, mechanic, cabinet maker, ranch hand. It hasn't been boring!
    Hobbies: Boy Scouts: Leadership training, Merit Badge Counselor, Unit Commissioner. Fit fishing into Scout stuff. Help out at church with training ushers and wherever needed.
    Gripes: A few, you don't want to hear them.
    Homestead: A Wife, ex-wife, 8 kids (6 girls, 2 boys), 22 grand kids, 1 great grandson, Guard Poodle and 6 29 cent goldfish.
    Hair Color: Full head of dark brown hair a bit gray around the edges.

    Age: 61 years, 364 days (Wednesday, Febrary 9th, 2011 is my 62nd Birthday, next day start of year 63).

    Trades: US Army Sargent First Class, (27 years); Artillery Surveyor (Senior Instructor of Training), Construction Surveyor - Chief of Survey Parties (CSP), Topographical Surveyor (CSP), Pipeline Design (Oil, Fuel, Water). Nuclear-Biological-Chemical Warfare Specialist (Senior Instructor of Training), Tactical Operation Center -Non Commissioned Officer In Charge (Infantry Brigade Headquartes), Senior Instructor of "Military Occupational Skill" (MOS) Training, Field Training Range Safety Officer, Evaluator of "Land/Air & Sea" Battle Doctrine.

    Army Branches: Armor, Artillery, Combat Engineers, Light Infantry (Reconnaissance), LANS, U.S. Army School, U.S. Army Training, U.S. Army Command,

    Hobbies: Fly fishing, fly tying, fly rod building, writer, photographer, swapmeister (Beginner's Only).

    Gripes: "You got to be alive to complain, cannot complain after you die! So do it while your can, never know when there will be no tomorrows!"

    Homestead: Wife Kathy (married 30 years), daughter Meghan ( and grandson Tanner, 2 black Labradors; Jack (9-year old male), Bella (3-year old bitch).

    Hair Color: Gray (I blame all the gray hair on 2nd Lieutenants.....)

    Hobbies Fly fishing, bird hunting with my English setter Rufus, golf, reading poetry, scotch whiskey and wine, cooking, etc.
    Gripes There isn't enough bandwidth here for this.

    Trades: Consulting forester: Current:Special projects coordinator Quebec Chief Forester's Office (that means I try to get things rolling in one direction) ... I'm a professional forester by trade and a salmon guide by night!

    Homewater is the Hauraki Gulf.

    As in the Army, I have never had a bad day Fly fishing, some damn uncomfortable days but never a bad one!
