This year's Wasatch Fly Tying & Fly Fishing Expo will be held April 1-2, 2011. The event will be held at the Salt Palace Convention Center in downtown Salt Lake City, UT. This will be our 5th year and we're very excited about the new venue...more space, more vendors, bigger and better.

Fly Casting Competition: The casting competition will be world class this year with the addition of the 180 long casting pond. Some great prizes will be awarded to the men's, women's, and youth division winners. More details and competition rules will be posted on our website.

Film Festival: The Wasatch Fly Fishing Film Festival is back again this year and will feature the world premiere of Soulfish 2. More details on the film festival coming soon. Keep checking our website for more info and when tickets go on sale.

Banquet/Auction: Our banquet this year will be on Friday night the 1st instead of Saturday so that we don't impose on the conference priesthood meeting Saturday night. The banquet will feature Mikey Wier as our guest speaker along with a special TU presentation. We will also have a LIVE auction, silent auctions, and special drawings. We will have some incredible trips for auction this year. It should be a great evening. Tickets are now available for purchase on the Expo website. There will be a limited amount of banquet tickets so purchase yours now.

We're also excited to have Mikey Wier as our guest presenter this year at the banquet. Mikey started and runs Burl Productions. Burl fuses the ski/surf style of video making with the blossoming sport of fly-fishing and environmental awareness. Burl Productions is the first fishing-oriented production to bring non-instructional fishing highlights and entertainment-based videos to the market. Mikey will be presenting his world premier of his Soulfish2 movie at the film festival.

Sponsors and Vendors: As in years past the Expo will be sponsored well by some great companies. Our current sponsors currently consist of: Rainys, Camp Chef, South Fork Outfitters, Sportsmans Warehouse, Fishtech, Fishwest, Soul River Rods, and Jans. We should have up to 32 different vendors and exhibitors at the show including conservation groups, guide services, and product reps, and more.

Fly Tyers: The quality of fly tyers that will exhibit their fly tying skills this year should be the best we've seen at the Expo. We plan to have about 60 unique tyers sharing their skills for all to see. If you are a fly tyers and would like to tie at the Expo, please send an email to Curtis Fry so he can get you on the schedule.

Classes/Workshops: We will also be offering classes, workshops, and casting clinics as in year's past...up to 30 different classes may be offered throughout the two day event. A class schedule will be posted on the Expo website soon.

This is a family oriented event...bring the whole family, kids, and even the inlaws. Special drawings will be available for the kids along with a kids fly tying area.

Checkout www.wasatchexpo.com for more info and updates.

We hope to see you there.
