A little side track that the powers that be might be interested in.

I have a friend who IMO is all wise in photography and computers so I figured he would know the answers. I sent him the link to this thread and asked his opinion Here's his reply.

"I tried to view the pictures but found that I must register in order to do so. So, I went through the steps to give all the info they wanted, checked my Email, and entered the registration key I had been given. Next came a screen saying:

"Thank you for registering, johwhi. Your account has been submitted for moderation by an administrator and will be activated shortly. You will be notified by email when this happens. To return to the forums, click here."

Is it really that hard to become a member?...could be a turn off.

Actually, it is that difficult. Every new member has to be approved by an admin type before being admitted as a member. That's how we keep the spammers out of here. You know, the folks with a wholesale account for Viagra, Nike shoes, and mail order brides fom the country of your choice. When we first started using this system, maybe 4 out of 10 applicants were real people, now it's about 8 out of 10. The system seems to be working.
