Mr.Castwell is right1 MY R.B. Trout has seen quite a few paqes turned over the years. Wait till you see all the color plates on some old fashion and still good today flies. If I could only own one book, his Trout would be it.

Yep, "Trout" is a wonderful book. Seems as though every time I read it I discover something new, almost as though it's been re-written while sitting on my book shelf between readings. Can't go wrong with that one.

"If we carry purism to it's logical conclusion, to do it right you'd have to live naked in a cave, hit your trout on the head with rocks, and eat them raw. But, so as not to violate another essential element of the fly-fishing tradition, the rocks would have to be quarried in England and cost $300 each."
~John Gierach
My one wish is that when I die my wife doesn't sell my fishing stuff for what I told her I paid for it...
After Trout you may want to consider my two favorites:
A Modern Dry Fly Code by Vincent C. Marinaro and In the Ring of the Rise by Vincent C. Marinaro. Everything changed for me after I read these books.
Brandon,
I have an Esquisite hard bound copy of "Trout" by Ray Bergman.
This is a Second Edition copy from 1964, fourth printing. This copy has the Green and Brown fabric on the hard cover and is in "Pristine" condition, and yes what they say is true, the color plates are awesome.
First editions can fetch upwards of $315.
I will ship this one to you for $20 + $4 S&H

Jonezee,
Brandon has agreed to purchase it, but I will keep you informed.
I've seen many copies of this book for sale for less money, but very, very few in the condition this 42 year old copy is in, like brand new.
But your already ultimately familiar with the condition of the items in my collection, thanks for your continued patronage.
