Default First FlyRod for a Youngster? Redington CT

I have a need to get a new rod for my soon to be 10 year old. I was looking at the Redington CT series. Great price and from what I have been reading sounds pretty good. Anybody have this rod? Is the reel seat a real RoseWood seat or is it that laminate looking stuff you find typically on lower cost rods? How's this rod cast, fish? Any info would be appreciated. Anybody that has one could you post a picture of the real seat up close? Thanks

Redington rods are excellent for the money. I have not tried the CT but the RedFly is an great rod and the one I have purchased for students in classes held for 10 to 15 year olds. They are great rods for any age. I don't think you will be unhappy with any Redington rod. As far as the insert, the Redington web site states that the CT has a "Rose Dynawood" seat, it is not Rosewood.
