Well, I rolled in late Sat morning. Got to meet several of the guys, then went scouting while I waited for Black Co to get there. Got a surprise visit from an old buddy and the heat got me and had to hit the hotel that evening. But was up at daybreak and casting at first light just past the camp and was into the 'gills so hard I never heard anyone packup and leave! By the time I came out for a break, the camp was gone! hehehehe
Black co showed up and we caught fish for a few hours then got the scamp out, but by then the fish were done and so were we.
Anyway, I didn't know what to expect and was not prepared for it, but that will be different next time. And I will NOT miss the fish fry either.
The pattern I had the most luck with was a yellow deerhair popper, but they only hit that till the sun got up, then it was a little chart. red butt wooly worm, size 12.
I'm gonna try and go back out there in Sept.
