    Default mayfly question

I'm not an entomologist, so bear with me on this question. I was up at a local lake last weekend, and found a mayfly on my car. It had the normal looking whitish colored wings, but the body was reddish pink. It was quite a pretty little bug, and I've never noticed one colored like that before. Anyone seen or know of such a bug? If it helps, I was in central Kansas at the time. I didn't have a camera, or I would have snapped a picture or 2.

FWIW, color is a lousy way to key a mayfly.

    1) Do you remember how many tails?
    2) Was the wing plain or mottled? Sounds like plain
    3) Were the hindwings obvious, absent, or minute?
    4) Any guess as to hook size?

Unfortunately, no to the first 3, and I'd guess a 12 or 14 for hook size.

I mostly just noticed the striking color. I'll have a camera with me next time. It did sort of have the hue of the one that was tied in the video.
