Roof-Top Tents vs. Tent Trailers?

We recently bought a pop-up so we can camp with our kids (1 & 3 year old)...Its more comfortable than a tent. Its nice to have a small fridge, lights, beds, a table, A/C, a heater, etc...but its not going to save you any time...It still takes about a half hour to set camp and break it down. Frankly, I cant wait till the kids are old enough to float down and camp on the river with us. When that happens, it will be bye-bye for the pop-up. Cheers.

Close to a full camper trailer size but it would go wherever you can drive your truck in.

I have thought about doing something like this in the past, but I have a 97 Land Cruiser instead of a truck for fishing trips and the "truck" I do have is a 4 cylinder 1986 nissan that gets me where I need to go around town, but would definitely struggle on a rough road, especially when wet. It has a hard enough time carrying an extra passenger let alone a camper so as much I like the truck bed camper idea, I can't see it working unless I got a new truck.
