Thread: Jinxed Fishing Spot

    Default Jinxed Fishing Spot

Does anyone else have a particular fishing spot that seems to be one of those places where something goes wrong each time you go there?
I have one of those (Big Bushkill Creek in NE PA).
First time there: Was told when I got there that I needed a special permit (had no money on me).
Next time: A very large (and hungry) black bear was at the parking area (miles from the nearest road) and we had to wait quite a while to exit the car. Then, I waded in too far in water that was deceivingly fast and with a very slippery bottom and with no staff. My buddy came to my rescue with a tree limb.
Next time: Got there (2 hours from home then) and realized my fly reels were still at home.
Next time: Slipped on mossy rocks and fell on my Orvis rod and broke it (my 2-piece rod was now a four piece).
Next time: My buddy fell in (face first, in 40-degree water) and then after exiting the stream, slipped on the moss and used his rod to break his fall.
    I haven't been there since.
For a real challenge, try ice fishing with dry flies.

Don't blame you one !! Luckily I've never had that kind of bad luck at one spot.
