While he's not specifically a fly fishing artist I saw this fellow's work at the Florida State Fair last year. It is much more beautiful in person than what the net can show. He also puts hidden animals in each picture that are fun to look for.

He's a great innovative fly tyer, but you may not know that Dave Whitlock is also a fantastic illustrator. He usually does all the work in his instructional books.

I met Dave Whitlock, when he was at Berkley's Fly Shop, in Eden Prairie MN. I had Dave's Book "Guide to Aquatic Trout Food", with me hoping he would sign the book.

Dave wrote the following inside the book cover....

I've enjoyed our visit! Hope this book and my presentations help you enjoy flyfishing more!

He also drew a character of a Trout swimming along a stream bed, all with a black felt-tip pen.

Kat had a bunch of cards reprinted last year so she may have what you want now.

I like the pike in the roots picture too. He seems to be smiling with trophies of the battles won displayed around his lair.

I have a few of his prints and would love to own an original piece.

and on that note, I took up cross-stitch as a cabin fever / lazy eye exercise. You can create your own with your own photos easily enough.
Oh yes, when I dont paint my own I like to check out Georgies, http://www.fish-paintings.co.nz/[/url:1cc87]

Kathy - I love the work of artist & guide Bob White. You'll fine him at Whitefish Studio - www.whitefishstudio.com.[/url:c4738] While you're there be sure to sign up for his Thursday Morning Art Review. Always an interesting piece of his art acompanied by a related story.

Having worked as an artist at one time, I've collected much too much. But I will 2nd the comment on Monty Dolack, we have his Yellowstone River hanging here in the office.
