    Mike,

I don't have to sneek through the woods. We don't have those here. I just go out back with a big raw steak. The coyote comes up and I offer a trade. The steak for the tail. Sometimes it works .

I'll go to great lengths for a good piece of tail.

Buddy, I love that last line about the tail

Seriously though, in Nova Scotia, a woman was killed last year and just a few weeks ago in New Brunswick, a coyote mauled another woman when she was out on her lawn, she was fortunate and was able to beat it off.

    Coyotes are just about everywhere.

Here in Tucson, very few folks own cats that they let out at night. At least they don't own them for long. There is a very healthy urban coyote presence throughout the city. Plus bobcats, owls, several large raptors, and the occasional cougar.

The coyotes aren't usually dangerous to humans. Unless, of course, they are very hungry or sick (the coyote, not the humans).

I'm not sure which species I favor more in the interaction here. People seem easier to come by these days, but you can't shoot them and use them for tying materials.....sort of a conundrum .
