    Default Trout and Reds

Help please. I am a newbie to fishing salt with a fly. Live at the NC coast and been fishing piers and the surf. Can anyone suggest a good fly for fishing trout and reds this time of year and I guess it needs to go deep. Hope it warms soon.

I'm in Florida. For trout, the top fly is a chartreuse-and-white or olive-and-white Clouser. Reds will hit that, too.

However, when targetting reds specifically, we like to use crab or shrimp patterns.

Here's a fly that has worked very well for me on redfish:

when I lived on the Outer Banks I would use a clouser but also a gurgler for top water...didnt have to put much into it because there seemed to always be fish...them were the good ol days...
