    Default Virtual Fly Fishing

Has anyone here tried Real World Fly Fishing? It's a virtual fly fishing program. I just received my CD the other day and it's pretty cool. No where near the real thing of course, but until the water thaws out a little it is a fun way to pass the time. There are a variety of fishing locations for trout, bass, panfish and recently added, steelhead. You get to check the hatch, select your rod, leader, and fly and cast to rising fish and play them. If there is interest I'll post a link to their web site.

Chris, I don't know the program and can't even use it because I'm running a Mac but look here:

have you tried "Flysim", it's pretty fun, and they have some pretty real line dynamics. Just google it spelled like that, and see what you come up with. The demo is free, but it has a one fish limit. you get to pick your tippet, line, fly, etc.....I like it to kill some time!

Thanks JC and bwagner, I tried out both the free one and FlySim. Of the three I like Real World FF the best so far. It looks like actual locations and has various settings from beinner to expert. FlySim is prety good too although it is computer generated graphics rather than actual sites. It's nice to know we have some options to while away the hours when we can't actually be on the stream. Of course, this may cut into my fly-tying time for a while.

Good grief ! Thanks for the memory jog JC , color me embarassed . I have actually played that game several times in the past . I always do better catching fish on it than I do at the lake . LOL . I must have been having a grey moment ! I just didn't associate it with FAOL
I have 7 fly lines in all and they are all SA lines . I really liked the first SA line I bought and saw no reason to switch .
