Thread: Swap of the Month - SEPTEMBER

Claret softies coming your way. (I hope there isn't a complexity rule for this swap. It's only a three ingredient fly, and one of the ingredients is thread!)

    Pattern
Body; Darker red or claret silk floss
Thorax; Sparkle dubbing in a light cinnamon or dark ginger color
Hackle; Brahma hen, use the badger like feathers from the middle and be really sparse with it. I strip one side of the feather and make about two turns with it.

    Size 14

These work during mahogany dun hatches according to my soft hackle guru. To me, the colors look wrong, but once the silk gets wet, it darkens a lot more than synthetic floss. He has the fish pics to prove it. He wanted a few extras tied for his use. (He doesn't tie any more, but still gets out to fish.)
Too young for Medicare and too old for women to care.

Sorry, everyone. I've been swamped and haven't completed it yet. I'll finish it this week and get them out immediately. Life is crazy right now.
