    Default E.H. Barnes flyrod info

    anyone know anything about E.H. Barnes flyrods? I just got a 9ft.

    Ed,

    Are there no other identifying markings on the rod? Anything stamped on the butt cap or seat? Any patent nos. anywhere on the hardware? I've never heard of a E.H. Barnes bamboo rod. He could possibly have been a hobbyist maker.

    One possibility is that the name on the rod was the owner and not the maker.

    Can you post some pics of the rod?

    The only E. H. Barnes that comes up in Google is the July 4, 1872 listing for the schooner E. H. Barnes, and its sailing from Baltimore to New Haven! Name looks to have a long history!!
