    Fish,

Nice fly, nice fish. Which river were you fishing? I haven't had a chance to get out yet this season.

Why do you think that's a coho?

That color combination on a clouser is one of my best here in NJ saltwater. I tie and carry these from size 2/0 to 2.

Yup, without a doubt that second fish (middle and bottom photo) is a Coho.

Those Erie Steelhead sure are something. There are so many of them and they love to eat flies. Coho come to a fly pretty good as well when they are in the mood.

    Thanks for sharing.

Nice looking fly and I enjoyed the photos of the fish. An OK fish ID piece: http://dnr.wi.gov/fish/lakesup/steelhead.html

i tied something ver-r-r-y similar & put in the White River. The bows loved them! Great minds work alike.

I am gonna take my net next time i felt bad I got the 1st one a lil muddy I know its not good for the fish. I was surprised this pattern worked as good as it did! i will definatly tie more up asap! I only ever thought this fish was a coho when guys at another forum said it was. then I searched and it kinda resembles one. I caught it at the vermilion river. I sent a pic to odnr and they say they have to see the inside of the mouth to confirm for sure and dummie me didn't even pay attention cause I figured it was a steelie. but they said the pic looks more like a coho than a steelhead. they said there are strays from other states and stuff. I have a mix of people saying now its a steel and no its a coho. all I know is it was fun to catch and shes safely back on her way to do her business and go back home to the lake.
PS. I just remembered salmon die after spawn. sorry fishy....
