Anyone know if they are still in business? I had my heart set on one of their pontoon boats but I have had no luck getting in touch with them. I have called repeatedly, left messages, sent pages and emails...all to no avail.

Bill Day the owner, had a stroke in February. The good news is that it mostly affected his speech. His daughter is helping him with the orders. I just got a Steelheader II from them and it is like a floating tank.
Email him thru his site steelheader.com as they do check the email. Just be patient...his boats are well worth the wait.
I had difficulty getting hold of them a couple of years ago. It seems that the reply I got was to a fax that I sent them, and the reply came back by fax. Don't know a fax number for them, but you may be able to chase one down.
They're just fish, right? Right?
Thanks Mike,
You are absolutely correct. I got a call from his daughter last night. She is trying to plug a few holes for Bill until he comes around. Thanks for the info. For any others interested, email is the best was to contact Skookum for now. She will check the email from time to time to try to stay on top of things. Be patient....

I have a Steelheader II that was given to me by a good friend and I second the comment that it is a very sturdy pontoon. I think it is a lot better quality than what I see at the area flyshops and stores. I believe it is because it was built with your western rivers in mind. We modified it to carry two people which it does with ease.
