Default Proof that our Canadians friends are...well...

..perhaps just a bit off their keel rocker. Now don't get me wrong, having been to Canada and around Canadians all of my life, I really love them. Great people one and all, but, well see for yourself:

    Thumbs up ??????????

That is the fanciest exibition of paddling that I have ever seen.
Do you think that this was those guys first time on the water?
    Darn nice lookin canoes too.
Not in the least suprising though ,
I think that if you cant play hockey ,
handle a canoe or catch fish they dont allow you to be a Canadian.
Sort of a right of passage sort of thing.
    Eh?

Well I have to say I found the video interesting. On flat calm water that would be very easy to do, and make life a lot less physical LOL. Having run rivers carry freight in a canoe I just can't see using that style. could be a little damp LOL. definately the next time I am out on flat water with a canoe I will have to try that

    Wink

You all are hilarious, I should paddle the lot of you.

Ha Ha I have used this method on flat water and it is great if you are the only one in the canoe and want to steer straight with out using a lot of "J" strokes to straighten out. Does not work on a river or rough water so well for the obvious reasons, but there are some who can and some canoes with kayak type skirts that can work this, This method may not work with a canoe loaded with supplies.

Did you like the part with the mating canoes?

The actual test for Citizenship in BC, Canada's Westernmost province is:

Travel across this great land on the Canadian National Dayliner train. once you get deep into the Canadian Rockies you will come to the Mount Robsen way station. This is the starting point for the test. Mt Robsen is 12,972 feet tall. At the way station you will find two red buckets of sand.
With a bucket in each hand you climb that 12,972 foot mountain. At the summit you take a deep breath and jump off. If you don't spill any sand You're In!

Other Provinces have their own tests. Notably Newfoundland which involves Drinking a couple of gallons of Newfie Skreech in preparation for their test. Or that may be the test. I don't really know cause after the first gallon of skreech I kinda lost track of the rules.
For God's sake, Don't Quote me! I'm Probably making this crap up!
