    Default NFLD Fishing Meet

I was thinking of organizing a fishing meet/trip on some Saturday in June somewhere within the Avalon. I think it would be a great way to meet others, share fly patterns, locations, stories and all the goodies. I was thinking Second Pond would be suitable. Pleanty of space to park, nice trails, fishing is good in both the pond and river, and best of all, it's close for most.
Quick and easy is what I'm thinking.....It could be a BYOFood (or catchYOfood) type of thing? Maybe a few casting demos? Maybe a tying demo? Maybe just meet, fish and hookup later at Tim's for coffee?
Before posting to the appropriate area and making it official, I'd like to hear your feedback on other suitable locations and any other suggestions you may have. Volunteers for any type of related demos are welcome
So, bring it on, lets see what kinda support we can get for this.
    Thanks, Ian

I'd be up for a meet and fish, not much of a demo guy, especially casting...............on second thought put me in for a windknot demo.

    Wink Bump!

Hey folks, ... sounds like a good idea. I can't make it but I'm sure there are some other "East Coasters" who could!

Im there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Although I havent been to Second Pond. Ill bring the coleman for a cook up, toutons anyone?

I'd do a tying demo for trout or salmon. Barnes knows that I am there for a demo on teaching how to properly tangle your leader on a bush, I am the master.

Also Ian I could help you organize everything.

Castwell, I will certainly take you up on your offer.

    Great Idea Ian

Well now you've done it....you have to try and explain what toutons are and why a sane person would eat them...lol I love them, by the way. I will try to attend this, although it's shaping up to be a busy June. Fingers crossed

Default 3 or 4 on board

I'll bring a friend or two as well....good, things are coming together.

I'll bring the coffee and give a quick talk on rod action/application and maybe even find the guts to talk casting....yikes!

    Keep the feedback coming!

    Default How's this sound?

Second Pond it is. Feel free to PM me for anything. We can exchange #s over the next couple of weeks.

Toutons/Bannaks and coffee........Yummy stuff! Maybe a trout or two as well

Fly tyer, Thanks for offering to demo..you're on. I have a small fold-out table I can bring, let me know if you need it.

    I'll do a casting demo.

Ian Durdle can talk about "reading water", providing he can make it.

My Dad takes a mean Photo, he'll get some cool shots, trust me this one.

I hope we can all learn a little from each other but most of all, it's just for a bit of fun. Real easy, basic and loose.

I guess that's about it, we can spend most of the day fishing thus meaning not too much to organize
Anyone have anything to add before I post to the proper area?

    Thumbs up

The thought of your fish in makes me wish Newfoundland was a bit closer to BC. Do we really need Toronto anyway?

    Toutons.
