Default schoolie stripers at Roanoke Rapids 5/3

A friend and I just fished 2 days on the Roanoke River in North Carolina, And its heating up.

Saturday evening there were "spawns" everywhere around us and some actually ended up bumping the boat. I managed one fish on a 2/0 Bobs banger on top and my friend had a couple hits on a crease fly at 6am sunday but mostly it was an 8wt and a 300-400 gr fast sink line and a clouser on light wire hooks. Sunday was a 30 fish day for us but some of the regulars on the river had upwards of double that---fish were 16-22".

Sounds like a great time. A great reminder, to me, at least, how small a part of this great world of fly fishing I know. Like Len's pictures from Wisconsin, and Morneb's photos from South Africa, Jack's reports from Tennessee, etc. etc. etc. etc.

    Thanks for the reminder.
