Jack glad to hear that your taking care of yourself. Many your age and older(myself) do not know they have a suger(lower insulin working pancreas) problem. Type 2 diabetes, onset, developes at an older age and is easily managed. I take one pill a day and as you stated watch the carb.

I quit smoking a month ago. Now my three mile runs are up to 5 miles. One place I can recommend for all those wishing to quit smoking is [url=http://groups.google.com/group/alt.support.stop-smoking?lnk=srg&hl=en:55900]http://groups.google.com/group/alt.support.stop-smoking?lnk=srg&hl=en[/url:55900]

Its a usenet newsgroup for those quitting. Great support, no matter what method you use.

To quit smoking, just don't smoke. Not even a wiff, from the first point you actually quit. First three days are hell. Deep breaths and maybe a little dark or bitter sweet chocolate to cut the edge, or some aspirin. Then two weeks maintenance (just don't do it). After that your home free. Ever smell or see smoking, just turn on your heals and walk away.

You'll feel great, and save lots of money too!!!
