HUGE difference! My Launch felt like a broomstick compared to the Z-axis when doing simple nymphing casts. I tested them one after the other while fishing with a friend who has a Z. As far as mending is concerned, they are also in completely different leagues. There's even a noticeable difference between the Launch and the FLi series, but they do have slightly different actions.

With that said, I am getting a Z-axis, soon...I hope.
    I think, therefore I fish.

I think Joni hit it on the head, and it ties in with comments in the Elitism thread. I consider myself pretty lucky because I like slow to maybe med fast rods, and those are some of the most affordable and biggest price range out there. Stay within your budget and you will find something you like and arn't afraid to use and enjoy!

    Smile expensive vs cheaper flyrods

All the years I have been fly fishing. I have never had a trout jump out of the water to see if i was fishing an expeneive or cheap flyrod. I have cought a lot of trout on both. The one I like the best is the bamboo my father bought me 54 years ago.
