When I was a young man I was in a hurry to go any where. My Dad always said why you rushing to your death? That stuck with me all my life the other thing was "A man is the head of the household never forget that" and I never did. Course I might add that my wife is the neck that turns the head LOL

My father was in the Navy. He always told my brother and I, that "The man usually ends up being more of the "Head, IN, the household", than "Of the household". Proved to be very true!
But, he knew his stuff, obviously, he and Mom were married 67 years, with that philosophy in place!?!

He said, "The poorest of the poor can afford dignity. Don't EVER take it from them."
Dad was tough, but fair. I'll never stop missing him.

My Dad always told me that he would take care of providing my needs while I was under his roof and I could take care of my wants.

He also told me that I was old enough for my wants to not bother me!
