Then when I am planning a longer trip down that way (Maitland means I have to stay overnight to make it worthwhile) I will give you a shout.

Greg...
Sounds great...I can show you around and put you on some big bass (particularly in early July).
Gime me a few weeks notice...we're expecting son #2 in April, so fishing time will be reduced this year.
Cheers,
Andrew
Andrew,
Not sure if I missed this, but have you slowed down the fly or used it faster.
Try adding or loosing weight?
Eric.
Look at the minnows that you are supposed to be imitating and tie the clouser as close as you can to that pattern. That might help!
There's no sense in being dumb unless you get to show it off once in a while...
I've never been a fan of Clousers. I tend to avoid heavily weighted flies in general. I've only used Clousers in saltwater, and most of the time they have not produced for me. That's probably because I don't tie one on until my other fly choices have resulted in failure, which might just mean there are no fish around. I know of only one instance in which a Clouser performed significantly better than the Deceivers that I usually use. I recall someone once asked Lou Tabory at a seminar "What's the best way to cast a Clouser?". He said "with a spinning rod". I'm inclined to agree.
