    Chris Helm recommends Bond 527. It contains acetone, so I don't know it's effect on body braid. I second the mono wrap though. I believe it does a nice job of forming the eyes to the shape of the body, and really secures them. After you wrap the mono a coat of nearly any clear adhesive will make the mono disappear.

    have you seen the tab eyes? stick-on eyes with a little tab to wrap thread over. holds them in place and forms it over the head well.

    A product you don't see very often (for some reason!?), but has worked very well for my own, salt flies, is "EXO-FLEX" by Wapsi.
    Check with your local fly shop to see if they have it/can get it.
