I don't know what kind of rattler that guy is but you can keep him back there....we got enough of those danged things (diamondbacks) out here.
I was 11 years old fishing along the Crooked Creek in Harrison, AR when I was bitten in the right shin by a rattler....somehow I've gained a phobia and I don't want any part of any reptile that doesn't have legs.

Snow on the roof but with fire still in the hearth
Crotalus horridus - sounds like an incantation from a Harry Potter tale. How did you take the picture from what looks like straight overhead without leaving a visible puddle in the picture?

Maybe a tall tree and a zoom lens...
Cool snake pic!
I was landing a nice little brown trout yesterday in Masonville, CO -- my foot came down 4 inches from a 5-foot western diamondback, who instantly coiled and started rattling......wait, hold on -- after my non-graceful 6-foot non-acrobatic leap, which broke my tippet and freed the fish, I noticed -- it was a 5-foot Bull Snake. They make an incredibly realistic rattlesnake noise with their mouths, and vibrate their tails in dry leaves to give it even more realism.
I nearly wet my hippers on that one - still some residual adrenaline in my system this AM....

Hi Bruce. What's the white background? Looks like a bed sheet with the little creases. Nooooooo!
I hope its not his bead.
